First Day of Advent

The music on KOST felt way too early for me when it started the week before Thanksgiving, but now with Advent upon us it feels just right. My favorite song is Silent Night by Transiberian Orchestra.

I first heard this song when Nhi used it for the introduction for our Christmas play several years back. This song instills so much tranquility and stillness in me. The opening violin notes just freeze me and make me forget about anything else going on at the moment. I know it sounds kinda weird but hearing this song makes me pumped up for Christmas and it gives me a purpose and drive for this year's Christmas play. Of course you know this play is gonna have trademarks of Mac: comic relief, drama, and action. But I want the play to show people that this is our God who loved us so much that he become one of us to save us. In my childhood years I was occupied with Santa Clause and gifts and taking breaks from school. In my teenagers years I was occupied with having a special someone (well that's still there now too haha). But now I have great admiration for the adults who see Christmas as a time to strengthen their faith and appreciate what they have. Its a much more positive outlook than when I thought about things I wanted.

So this season, I'm gonna try my best to make this a good Advent. Let's spread our love around to our entire communities. Reach out to people you never try to reach out to. Its easy to be nice to your inner circle, but its something else to love those that are a continual thorn in your side. My quote of the day:

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
Margaret Mead

Four weeks left, lets try our best to prepare! (Of course I am referring to the Lakers-Heat game. Who wants to buy a Lebron jersey to burn?)

A list of things i'm thankful for

2. Everything Else

An Epic Movie Comes Out Today

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! Part 1: The Fellowship of the Hallows

If you don't follow the series, all you need to know about the last book is that the evil Voldemort has taken control of the wizarding world and government and they are hunting down the remaining good guys left fighting. Therefore, Harry and his friends hide and live on the run.

Will Harry and Hermione's new wands help them defeat Voldemort? Will Ron finally buy a reliable wand that won't snap in half (Hi-Point wands)? Will this half-movie be worth full fare? There's only one way to find out, go see the movie!

Of course this isn't the first time the Potters have stood up Voldemort. Harry's great-grandfather Daniel Craig Potter led a group of brave people to live in Defiance of Lord Voldemort and his Wizardly Third Reich:

Question of the week...

What ice cream flavor best describes you and why!?

Willy Bob says...

I'm probably rainbow sherbet since I'm pretty bold/loud and not one quality defines me. =) I can be fruity at times too I suppose...lol.

...and what about you?!

O PARTY OF LENIN, WE HAIL TO THEE!
FOR THE MOTHERLAND, HOME OF THE FREE!

Yesterday was an incredibly exhausting day, I don't think I've ever washed that many dishes before for that long, I think I washed the same set of pots 6 times each along with other things, Almost fought some Mexicans for some towels and the sink, But i guess that's a problem that's to be expected in California >=P. However, it was a pretty fun day and we definitely made a good amount of money, I believe it was $17.50 after we got mugged... fancy restaurant anyone!? ;). The dancing wasn't too bad either, Tinkerbot got some nice upgrades thanks to Joe, but I wish I could've danced with a certain someone =[... Sorry to kill the mood lmao. To bring it up, it was great to be able to sit and relax at Chili's and enjoy each others company =]. +1 to Chris for thinking of a great idea for Lisa. This entire weekend was incredibly awesome!

I WISH I COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!
( At least some things )

Ohhh stand by me. If the skies that we look upon, should crumble and fall, and the mountains should crumble into the sea. I wont cry, I wont cry, no I wont shed a tear, just as long as you stand, stand by me. Come on and stand by me, stand by me! These guys are great, thanks for the link Chi Thuy.

Good and Bad Music I Heard On the Radio Yesterday

First of all, Happy Veteran's Day. BiA Salutes!

Now then, to the topic at hand, music on the radio. I like how songs over the last year have taken on two vibes: an 80's vibe and a techno vibe. Some examples of 80s type songs La Roux - Bullet Proof, Lady Gaga - Alejandro. And examples of techno songs include Enrique Iglesias - I Like It, and Rihanna's entire new album. I swear you could take Rihanna's voice out of her songs and they would still be good techno tracks.

Anyways, this one is interesting because I heard it on AMP and its not even closely related to pop, but its more like House Techno, which is one of my favorite types of music. I'm surprised that this music is becoming more mainstream. Yay for me

And then I heard this on the Kevin and Bean morning show on KROQ. She was made famous in South Park, but Wing has reached a new high (of lowness) in this song.

"hup hup hup, hup hup hup hup, hup hup, hup hup hup...."

Black cOps Out Now!

With the huge release of Black Ops storming the gaming nation all we have to ask is, will there be more? Well BiA has the scoop for you, Xbox has announced that Treyarch will release an exclusive special expansion for the Xbox Live community that will only cost $5.00 us. That's right PS3, Shove it! The expansion includes extended single player campaign missions as well as a couple extra fully customizable load outs for online multiplayer. The expansion does not yet have a release date but developers are saying that it will definitely be worth the wait and believe me, it looks like very promising. Here's a preview of what's to come

I can't wait! I love Carl! ;)

when anti-ads backfire

This is an anti-Carly Fiorina ad made by the Democratic party. I wasn't planning to vote for anyone in the Senator psotion, because I don't know enough about Fiorina or Boxer. I had intended to vote only for Governor and the Propositions. But I was watching The Office on HULU when this ad popped up. First of all this annoyed me because I just want to watch hulu in peace without these election ads. And then first line alone made me totally disgusted with Boxer. I'm not a one issue voter, but this ad annoys me. How dare they insinuate that law abiding citizens such as myself are untrustworthy and extreme? So I voted for Fiorina, even though I didnt really care at first. This ad has worked against Boxer at least in one case today :-)
