The person who came up with splitting California into two separate states need a slap in the cu. This is because the new state, South California, would not include Los Angeles County, but will include Kern County (most random ever). So would the use of the slang term "SoCal" still be applicable to Los Angeles County? Open to debate.

lol yes, a slap to the cu. But it would be a great way of telling california legislators to wake the *bleep* up
i'd be against it, just because this sets a dangerous precedent for future state splits. but if it did happen, i'm going to move five miles south to "southern california". I'm normally a moderate, but I would love living in a conservative state that gives more gun rights.
another thing, this would devastate the University of California. The only notable schools up north are UCB and UCSF. With this split they would lose UCLA, UCI, UCSD, UCSB, UCR... a majority part of the UC income.
but more importantly, GUNS! ;]
